This game was released on October 21, 2011. It is no longer available for pre-ordering; you can buy it normally.

Batman: Arkham City is a highly anticipated sequel to Arkham Asylum. It picks up one year after the events of the first game, which left both the Arkham Asylum and Blackgate Prison damaged and unfit for use.

In the upcoming game, Quincy Sharp runs for the mayor of Gotham and wins the election. His first decision is to isolate a notorious slum district and move all inmates to this new “Arkham City”. The criminals are left to their own devices, as long as they do not attempt to escape. The situation, however, quickly gets out of hand as Two-Face plots to publicly execute Catwoman, and Batman is forced to enter the Arkham City to save her.

Like its predecessor, Batman: Arkham City is an open-word action game, with even more side missions and challenges. The game world is larger, and divided into turf zones owned by different gangs. You start with all the gadgets you’ve obtained in the previous game; there also are new ones in your arsenal, such as smoke bombs. Finally, Arkham City gives you more skill upgrade choices (33 as opposed to 20 in Arkham Asylum).

Update: Arkham City Skin Pack

If you missed the pre-order bonuses or didn’t get the skin you wanted, you can now get the full Batman: Arkham City Skins Pack DLC for an affordable price of $4.99. Includes 7 Batman costumes.

How sure are you about that. Which do you think is the better deal, Joker carnival or Robin playable. (Gamestop or BestBuy)

        • Posted on October 5, 2011

I never liked Robin anyway, why would I want to play as him ingame. Why not pick someone else that batman teams up with.

    • Posted on October 5, 2011

Because Robin is awesome, just because you dont like him doesnt mean he doesnt have a huge fan base. Robin is a classic character.

They’re having Nightwing as a DLC. Can’t wait for that. I want to get as many characters as possible.

Is the Collectors edition available in Europe?

I want to get the Batman Beyond Skin but they wont ship to US, looking for somebody to ore-order, get the code and email it to me, they can return the game itself back to the store without any issue… email it to me @ BroKawBol@yahoo.com you rock if you could

      • Posted on October 6, 2011

Not 100% sure but I assume they will let you buy it afterwards (maybe few months after release).

      • Posted on October 20, 2011

You can get the Batman Beyond code by purchasing 1 can of NOS energy drink, using the code under the cans tab, and going on their website rewards and purchasing it with the code under the tab. This will give you the suit for basically $1.99 plus tax (the cost of the drink).

You can get the animated batman from Gamestop in the US if you are part of their power play club or whatever that is.

    • Posted on October 9, 2011

      it’s called Power Up f.y.i.

Hello. The Robin ad seems to say it’s “exclusive” to GameStop. But it’s definitely advertised on the Best Buy website. Basically no point in pre-ordering at Best Buy when you get Robin AND other pre-order bonuses from GameStop.

Actually, this is an ad for Gamestop in Scandinavian countries. The Swedish Gamestop site lists the Robin Pack, for example:

      http://gamestop.se/game.asp?id=908

I can certainly see how it can be confusing since the ad is in English… But here in the States the “Robin pack” is Best Buy exclusive. Of course, as you’ve pointed out in your other comment, you can buy it separately after the release :)

Not only does GameStop have the exclusives this fine website listed above, but if you become a FREE PowerUp Rewards member, you get a batman skin. I’m so torn though because it really seems like I’m going to end up with multiple copies of Batman: Arkham City. I’m a die-hard Batman fan though so that explains it a little. I’d rather buy multiple copies to get skins, in-game content, and exclusive swag than pay people on eBay. I guess I can take what I can get for my multiple copies on Amazon.com’s trade-in or GameStop.

It seems you can buy the t-shirt the Newegg pre-order offers from a Newegg-marketplace seller. I’d rather buy the t-shirt and pre-order somewhere else for DLC that’s going to cost money in the near future. Plus the t-shirt’s not going anywhere.

  • Posted on October 11, 2011

K-mart is offering a t-shirt AND $30 store-credit if you buy the game. I wonder if it’s the same T-shirt.

  • Posted on October 11, 2011

i thought gamestop robin dlc was only in europe not the U.S, wow this is confusing!

    • Posted on October 12, 2011

Well dont take my word for it, but Im pretty sure BestBuy has Robin in the U.S. not gamestop!

  • Posted on October 12, 2011

Woah! Gamestop has the Batman Skins pack list for sale with price and date available!

And here’s the link to buying Robin and when he’ll be available (which doesn’t matter as much since you’ll get him at GameStop OR Best Buy with pre-order)

So I’m a US PS3 player, I’m preordering the CE from Gamestop. That means I’ll get the Dark Knight skin (yay) and the animated skin (also yay) but I want the beyond skin sooooo bad. anyone know if it’ll be US DLC later? if not can someone hook a brrother up with the code? I’ll gladly trade you my Gotham Knight digital copy and the music CD for it. elron_lyoas@yahoo.com

  • Posted on October 15, 2011

I’m also looking for the 70′s skin and willing to trade for it as well. if it won’t be hitting DLC

  • Posted on October 17, 2011
